FLOWMASTER
Just curious if anyone out there has this FLOWMASTER exhaust system:
http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/fm...erfMuff10.html
Part Numbers: 525801-L & 525801-R
This link says that it was designed for the C5. What are your thoughts? Is this a good system? Why/why not? Thanks, Jim

Re: FLOWMASTER (jim_gard)
I'm running them and love it.. I didn't care for the exhaust tips though and had them removed and put on custom tips.
click here to hear them in action...

Re: FLOWMASTER (jim_gard)
I have them on my '98 and really love the sound of them. Nice sweet rumble at idle, and VERY aggressive at WOT.
Have been complimented many times on the sound of my ride by other C5'ers in town.
Technically speaking I don't know if they do jack for the HP, but 345hp stock is plenty for me anyway!

Re: FLOWMASTER (mhefner)
I put mine on about a month ago,and I love them they sound great.
I bought them from a forum member who also had cut outs welded to them which sound really good!
I agree the tips are ugly. I am going to try to use the quad oval tips from my B+B's

Re: FLOWMASTER (ace)
Thanks to you all for your replies. Great video Hef! On tips issue, I don't mind the look but I have seen others that I like much better. Hef, do you have a pic of the tips that you installed in the Flowmasters? Thanks again! Jim :flag

Re: FLOWMASTER (ROCKnROLL)
Saw them at
http://www.carparts.com for $251.47 each. If you go there, simply do a search on either part number and you should find them.
525801-L or 525801-R

Here are some tips I used to have ... but I changed them out after they started to rust :( Don't have a picture of my current tips though.

Re: FLOWMASTER (jim_gard)
I have heard there is intense resonance and you would really have to get some new tips. Those are horrible  !! IMHO, just spend the extra dough on the PRTs, Corsas, or Magnaflows. Good luck :).

Flowmasters are JUNK,JUNK,JUNK very restrictive. Yes they do sound good but how about down 15hpand 20ft torque from a Dyno Max???

Re: FLOWMASTER (johnso26)
No resonance on mine at all.
They are loud, but there is no resonance whatsoever.
My B+B Sports are a different story altogether. They have extreme resonance!

I agree with most people here that those tips have to go.

Re: FLOWMASTER (mhefner)
When you replaced the tips did you have to weld them into place? I currently have a set screwed into my 98 vette and was wondering if it is possible to get the Flowmaster and ljust screw them on the exhaust. Thanks

Why do you say BS? That was done on a dyno back to back.

Re: FLOWMASTER (STEEDAQ)
This is really funny, because I also dynoed 4 or 5 different exhaust systems on my car when it was bone stock... The results all where about the same +/- 1hp except the dyno max was no better than stock!!!!
I choose my exhaust based on sound, which lead me to my flowmasters...
