out of no where my car wont start, a couple of clicks then nothing, just like a battery thats got nothing left, but the battery is only 1 year old, but has a 2 year warranty, so i take it back ang get a replacement, and the car fires right up. so i take it for a spin down to the central post office to check my mail, and perfect! there is a park right out front. do my things and come back to the car and it wont unlock (brief panic then i realise i have this thing called a key) unlock the car and its completly dead, i fiddle with things under the hood for quite some time, during this time a crowd of about 20 street kids has amassed around my car , everyone likes to see a so called rich dude with his flash sports car broken down, they have all got their phones out taking pics and videoing, asking smart assed questions. anyway i jiggle something and powers back on. drive staight home ang get ready for some major surgory on the battery area and find a lot of blue/white stuff on the negative lead, i pull back the plastic and scrape it off(it was quite stuborn). good as new. feel really bad about complaining about the old battery.
Clean each of the cables, negative and positive with Arm and Hammer Soda. ( I make a solution in a plastic cup and soak each end in the solution.) This will neutralize the acid. Dry each cable end totally dry. Then attach to the battery. You can cover the outside of the cable end with vaseline and it will keep the water and acid off of the metal.
Coca Cola classic cuts through battery acid....i have no idea why, but it does.
Most likely the "soda" in the Coke Classic neutralizes the acid on the battery cables. Not as elegant as using Baking Soda in the first place. I would rather use Baking Soda and drink the Coke while watching the Baking Soda dissolve the battery acid. Better yet, a Heffiewizen Beer would be a much superior prescribed refreshment.

I would be happy to help! We factor how many repair technicians will be needing refreshment, and how long the work will take, usually call the "stealership" and find out the "flat rate" time. Here is where the math gets complicated. "Flat rate" time for repairs + Helpers divided by the forecasted high ambient temperature, take that figure and subtract the total "amounts per serving" of each beer and then the expected comsumption during the "Flat Rate" repair. I am still working on the alogrithim for the temperature differential between the ambient atmospheric temperature and relative humidity, which is offset by the temperature of the Heffiewizen. Of course, your mileage may vary.
Hey BlackZ06...I lived in RWC for 22 years...moved to Ohio in 2002
Hope you're enjoying the cooler winters .....
I've got some buddies in Strongsville (So. of Cleveland) and I'll be out next weekend for the Cleveland Champ Car race ... should be a blast ... just sorry they're not running at Mid-Ohio any more ... that is a BEAUTIFUL track ... for both drivers and spectators.

That is an understatement.
(And yes, I hate winter up here even though my little area of the state doesn't get as much snow in recent years as surounding areas.)

Winter sucks here. Only get to drive my FRC for just a few months out of the year. On the positive note some nice cars with low miles when you store it for the winters. I miss driving year round in California. I am in San Francisco now, will be leaving back to Ohio tonight, I hear it's in the 90's....time to go for a cruise!
Get the cables TIGHT... if you can move the cable.... it is not TIGHT... happens alot....
Although I agree with this and loose battery cables can cause problems,
MAKE SURE YOU ONLY USE 11 FT-LBS, overtorquing the side terminal batteries is the number one cause of them leaking acid. If it leaks, your car's computer is directly below it.
