check for corrosion on/in the BCM (located under the battery; there's a service hatch in the passenger fenderwell)
I've also had a badly corroded battery terminal display similar results on my DD. It would randomly transition from OK...to full dead...to seeming fine, until you tried putting real load on the electrical system by starting the car. In the latter state, I could hear various relays clicking, and many of the dash indicators would be dim and/or flashing. Good luck.
hmmm, I took your advice, pulled the battery from the car. I then pulled another car along side and hooked up the jumper cables, everything seemed to be working fine. But, when I tried to start it it just goes *click* *click* *click* in rapid succession, kinda of like a normal car does when the battery is going. Nonetheless, all the gauges seem to work OK now with the other car hooked up to mine, the lights are fine, no clicking from the fuse box, so maybe it is the battery after all? I hope so, that will be an easy fix. Thanks for all the help so far, I really appreciate you all putting my nerves at ease!
I'll keep you posted!
These cars are nuts with low/bad batteries...I agree with the others...replace the battery.....try the Sears Platinum....its the newest dry cell battery from Sears....4 year FREE replacement..100 month prorated...I love mine so far..
OK, I'm freaking out now. I just got in my car, put the key in, and Bam! everything just goes nuts; lights dim on dim off, gauges flash and dim, no start, and I hear this bzzzzt pop pop noise coming from the fuse box, both under the passenger's foot rest and under the hood. Car is now completely dead. Has this ever happened to anyone else, any idea what could cause this? Any idea on how much $ this is going to cost me? I'm starting to get worried.
Rob
P.S. My car has an APS twin turbo installed and has been running great until this... could this be related, will I be OK taking it to a Chevy dealer (assuming this is some standard electrical problem)?
