Professional Tire plug kit, makes plugging tires a snap.
Some low life inserted drill screws into each of my rear tires, on my 01 Jeep Grand Cherokee :mad
Gave me a chance to test out my Corvette plug kit http://www.safetyseal.com 800-888-9021
Took less than 5 mins to repair each tire. Tools included in kit worked out great. Kit also includes extra parts if you should break an insertion needle.
According to Safety Seal, plug is permanent and will out last tire.
Just picked up a nice low profile 250 PSI air pump at Costco, cost $19.99.

Looks like a nice kit..
I have always preferred plugs over patches. Patches do not protect the plies of the tire from moisture (and rust!). That is especially important in freezing conditions where freeze/thaw cycles can really impact the tire.
A newer development is the 'plug-patch'. This is just what it sounds like - a combined plug and patch. It must be applied from inside the tire. It is supposed to be the best of both a patch and a plug.

Jetskifast,
I just noticed a nail in my rear tire yesterday as I was cleaning the car. I will be taking it to Jim, the tire tech that mounted my rims and tires for me after Big O chickened out. Maybe I'll pick up the kit too...

should work fine on run flats:)

Purchased kit for $65. Ordered from buddy how owns auto repair shop. Have seen the cheaper kits at Pep boys and so on. Kit tools are first class, not small plastic handle tools, all metal.

Repair plugs look to be high tech.Synthetic yarn embedded in supper sealing vulcanizeable rubber composition.Plugs seem to melt into place. Tires have had no air loss after plugging so far:)
Brazen C5
Plugged tires right in place. Did not remove wheels:)

Jet, sorry to hear about the Tire Fiasco! :( Glad your new Kit works well! :) I have had a plug set like this one for a long time and use it often on the Job. :yesnod: IMO, it is the best one on the Market.

Hey, how did know I just put 4 non run-flat B.F. Goodrich G-Force KDW's on my 98 C5 ? Great info, think I'll run out tomorrow and buy the same set-up.
Thanks, Rudy

Thanks for this good info. That is a nice looking plug kit. I have some cheapo crappy $4.95 kit that I carry in the car, and a small, foot powered pump which actually works good. I have yet to use the plug kit, but I'm sure that when I do, I'll be cussing :cuss and muttering about what a no-sealing piece-of-junk kit I have. Maybe I'll upgrade to this "Cadillac" of plug kits.
Regarding that 12V pump....I have YET to have one or use someone else's that doesn't blow the damn lighter fuse in short order, which is why I have this foot pump. If you do use a 12V pump, make SURE you use the lighter socket and NOT the cell phone charger socket in the console. That fuse has no "umph" at all.

I picked up a nail in my Goodyear runflats a few months ago, and was told (by Goodyear) that those tires could not be plugged, that the tire had to be taken off the rim and patched from the inside at a cost of $40. The Chevrolet dealer said the same thing (but for $20). I think it may have had something to do with the speed rating on the tires.
