Default Need C5 /GM A/C Oil Info

I'm replacing a failed A/c Compressor (as well as condensor, drier, tube etc). I would appreciate if one of you with a C5 service manual can tell me what type Viscosity and volume of A/c oil I need to put in the A/C system?

Thanks

I don't have my service manual handy, but I'm pretty sure the system uses PAG150 oil. I would assume around 8oz. I can look at my manual later and let you know.

Would appreciate if you can confirm from the manual. I have heard every think from 150 to 46 even 55 at one point. This has been expensive enough I want to make sure I use the recommended oil.

Thanks

My 2003 manual states: (Vol #1 Page 1-6)

PAG Oil GM P/N 12378526 (No other info)

They specify 2 (two) OZ be added for each major component changed Compressor, Evaporator, Condenser, and Accumulator.

Total PAG Oil capacity - 9 (nine) OZ
R134A Total capacity – 1.75 LB

Curious... Should a person worry about oil when charging the system?

Or just when changing a part?

Thanks!
