I'm taking my coupe to the drag strip on Tuesday. This will be the first time with my 2002. It is an automatic with a SuperYank 3500 stall converter and a 3.42 gear. Any suggestions on getting a good jump off the line with this set-up? Do I rev up to a certain RMP? I've have not owned a car with a stall converter before. I will be running stock runflats and will avoid the water box. Thanks for any suggestions.
I have a 2000 coupe with Yank SS3600 and 3.42 gears (and hardened shaft!!) also with headers.
I can't imagine that the runflats are going to do anything but spin!! My GSD3's spin at the line - I need to use drag radials.
I asked the company about whether to flash or just floor it at the line (this is what I usually do) and they said to experiment with it to see what works best.I have a line lock also so I am able to roast the drag radials -I would consider getting the line lock -it is not expensive and can be done DIY. Would love to roast a pair of runflats to see just how sticky they get!!
Thanks for the input. I went to the track with a group of vettes from our club. I was staisfied with my times. Still need to get some drag radials as I was spinning some at the line, so only got one 60' time below 2.0. But overall I was satisfied with my times. My mods include LG headers, Magnaflow exhaust, 3:42 gear, SY3500 stall converter. I was running on the original run-craps. It was a fun night and I'm looking forward to doing it again.
