New Rings Tomorrow

In fact GM, along with the new napier rings, have changed to polymer coated pistons to reduce the piston clearance.
Gm actually bored out my cylinders .5mm and installed oversized pistons.
my cylinder to piston clearance was .004 with a spec of .002

However, I was fortune enough to take mine to a dealership that has a vette tech. He's the only one the dealership let's go into vette engines. Took him dedicated 4 and half days to do the job. I've run 150 miles on it since I picked it up Friday. I can honestly say that at this point, it runs stronger than before, the oil is clear now, and as far as I can tell it hasn't used a drop (exhaust tips are clean for the first time since the car was new). :)
I think the guys that post on GM service have had bad experiances and we hear from them... don't hear much from the happy ones and no I'm not affiliated with GM in any way... you can get a lemon from any line of cars and you can get poopiey service from any dealership depending on which tech they assign to do the job.
I did post on how to break it in,,, the mechanic told me that since there was no cylinder wall work and since the primary oil ring was not replaced, "run it like you want to". I have... :flag
Good luck. Just make sure you talk to the service manager and tell them you expect / demand they put their best on you your investment in their livelihoods.
