Trans. shift issues...
Here is what it does:
In drive it will not shift into second gear until it reaches a high rpm, even at 20% throttle it can take it up to 5000 rpm before it shifts. If I let go of the gas for a second and them press the gas it will shift into second. If I give it full throttle it will hit the rev limiter and not shift at all.
It shifts into third and fourth without issues.
Once I'm in second, if I try to give it 70-100% throttle, it will slip out and just rev. It did not slip when the problem first started. It does not seem to slip in first gear.
What is wrong?? Please help! I was thinking it may be the valve body, a trans pump, or solenoid. Any suggestions?
I'm reluctant to take it to the dealer, I rather take it to LS1 trans expert. I live in Plainfield Illinois. Does anyone know a good LS1 trans guy in the Chicagoland area?
If the trans is shot, what suggestions do you have for beefing it up on the rebuild?

Sounds like its time to build a trans. It sounds like clutches and bands might have started to glaze over. Its not the end of the world, these trannies in the A4 cars always break. I have gone thru 5 in my 2000 SS.
A great place to go to that I have used as well as others is FLP or Finish Line Performance. They are located in Naperville, they do Dyno Tuning, Installs etc. They are The LS series motor gurus.
They also have there own trans shop known as FLT Finish Line Transmissions.
They have 5 different stages for transmissions and each stage can hold up to a certain amount of power. You let them know what power range you want to be at, and they will set you up with a trans that will work.
