I was reading in the latest Vette Magazine and they had a car with a FAST intake in carbon fiber finish. Anyone familiar with the FAST intake in carbon fiber or CF finish??? That was all it said in the mag and I was very interested in how they did that cause the picture of that FAST intake looked awesome!
I've seen a pic on this forum of a car that had a FAST 90mm that had been painted to look like a Carbon Fiber intake. It looked awesome. I will try and find it.
Hmm sounds like parts of my car lol...Fake CF painted to look real. Try calling Primo Customs in Chatsworth, CA .... He appeared on the TLC program RIDES, showing his CF paint jobs...Say Corvette Jack told you about it.
From the picture I saw in Vette magazine this did not look like a paint job. If it was it was awesome looking. I looked on the web for any information but I saw nothing and nothing on FAST web site.
I guess I could e-mail the folks a vette magazine but I was expecting that some of you folks might know.

This doesnt look like paint either but it is. Its called hydro graphic carbon fiber which means its painted to look like carbon fiber. This is from Vette Essentials website. If the intake was real carbon fiber Im sure it would of cost at least double what it already is.
Hey everyone, I am the photographer that shot that car. I also have a FAST 90 on my car, and I was very curious to find out the origin of this intake manifold. He told me that is was custom, and was a decal. I assume he took it apart and used some sort of vacuum style press to apply the decal to the top section. All I know is that it looks very real, and I would have thought it was real if he hadn't told me otherwise.

please find out more info if you can about the process, as i read vette i was really intrigued about the intake
Thank you for reading Vette Magazine. I will be sure to do a follow up with Andy later today and find out more on the process. As I said, I was interested in doing this as well.
As far as carbon fiber decals go, I somewhat agree that they are a bit passé. I can't help that it looks pretty amazing.

The FAST folks need to jump on this. This looks absolutely amazing
Love Vette Magazine as you always have very interesting and timely stuff! I can't wait to hear more! Lots of us have the FAST intake and would be most interested in process and expense. Thanks..
