When I fist got my C5 I was told one of the fist things I should get is a scape protector kit. My friend had one on his car. It was a couple wheels mounted on the frame in the front of the car. If you exceeded your clearance, little wheels would roll on the pavement rather than the frame scraping.
While changing my oil I recently noticed that my Frame is getting pretty smashed up. I want to get these little wheels but do not know where to find them. Does anyone know where I can get these?
I don't know where you are located as your profile is not completely filled out, but you can find them on West Coast Corvettes website. West Coast Corvettes lists them as "Skid Plate Wheels" part number is #15101702 and they are $79.95! WCC must really love those wheels! Good Luck and stop draggin' that front end!
Just another friendly service from your fellow supporters at the Corvette Forum! Remember, to always look and post as I am certain that you will have some "pearl wisdom" just as we did for you! This place is great isn't it! "See the USA, in your Chevrolet"
A lot of places sell some variety of these nowadays, but they were invented and sold as Frame Savers by Andy of A & A Corvette a long time ago. I've had these on my 02 since the summer of 02, along with his Rocker Rails, which eliminates the need for jacking pucks, and protect those low hanging rocker panels. I highly recommend both.
