Default Seals!!!

no cute aquatic life here. sorry. heres the deal. i have a 97 coupe with 6 spd. I wanted to start taking my car to the track (VIR) and decided to have some friends (cobra4b) and rich (doingOK) help me go over the car to make sure she was worthy of track time.. when we lifted her up, the underside looked clean and all bushings looked ok as well, but we did find a little oil on both sides of the clutch inspection cover. Brian informed me this was a tell-tale sign of a rear main seal weeping. mind you, my car does NOT drip oil onto my driveway at night or anywhere for that matter, but there was oil present on the casing. so my question is, how normal is this? is the seal shot? I dont need a clutch yet, and the 1000 in labor is steep. also, the differential had a little oil on one side of it, but again, my car doesnt leak onto any surfaces when parked.. input would be great... i wanted to track my car, but if the seals all need to be replaced then it will be another year till i can do track time.

Had similar problem, turned out to be leaking from my cam sensor. Pull your intake and check the oil pressure senor and cam sensor before to dive into the rear main.

Check up top first, hopefully something simpler will be the reason.
