is there a spot to get a ground for my wideband under the passenger floor board cover, i see plenty of places for 12v but not sure where i can get a ground. this was so much easier on a metal car lol
I think it was Bill Curlee that posted this advice:
There are 9 major grounds. 1 behind both headlights, 1 under battery, 1 engine ground strap on dvr side, 1 under left kickpanel by hood release, 1 on each side by the seatbelt/door jam, and one on each side of the frame in the rear by the trans.
If you remove your car battery, you'll see a rubber grommet behind it with a bunch of wiring going into the cabin. In the past I have run both +12v and ground leads through there and into the cabin (the other side of the grommet is underneath the glove box, just hunt for it -- you can't miss it. You could ground directly to the frame in this situation by removing the 10mm nut that also holds the battery ground down to the frame.
There are 3 wires in the passenger floorboard that are cut off and covered with a single piece of duct tape (yea, this is factory!). One is 12v all the time, one is 12v switched, and one is ground. I think they are red, orange and black. You can't miss them though, just look for the duct tape.

are these the ones that power the rear CD changer (on cars that are 'quiped so) ?
I remember free'ing a 3 wire connector that was under ther carpeting at the passenger footwell... and it too was taped.

MIKE I THINK THE CD WIRE IS DIFFERENT TO THE THE ABOVE 3 WIRES.
THE CD WIRE SHOULD HAVE A PLUG ON IT.MINE WAS ON THE TOP RIGHT HAND SIDE TAPED TO THE REAR HARNESS NEAR FUSE FOOTWELL BOX.THE 3 OTHER WIRES WHERE ON THE TOP LEFT.

Yea, like Nitro said, they don't have a connector on them. I have the CD changer and these wires don't go to it. I don't know what they are supposed to be for, but you can't miss them. It is just three loose wires with no connectors on the ends, that are covered by a single piece of duct tape. Bill Curlee has a great picture of them, I'll see if he can post his picture here.
Remember that the widebands can be real finicky when it comes to grounds. try to go directly to batt, or to the lug on the frame rail.
Robert
This is true. My wideband instructions said to make the ground up as close to the PCM ground as possible. The PCM ground is on the passenger side head. I went to the lug on the frame rail where the battery ground is and I haven't had any problems.
