Default 1997-1998 Maf Pcm issues?

So, 97 pcm and the stock maf is becoming a restriction. What can I do if anything to get an ls-6 or lpe maf to work with my pcm?

You just need a wiring harness b/c the newer (01? - 04) have the IAT intergrated into the MAF. I have this done on my car, nothing too over the top is needed.

I understand the whole wiring thing. Mine is already re wired to relocate the iat. But Reading another post recently somebody said the computer cannot be recalibrated for a bigger maf.

They are wrong I did it on my last 97 and I am doing it again on my current 97 when I find a intake.

Even a stock 97 MAF will support 600ish rwhp. Have you crossed that barrier?

If you're looking for higher flow:

I installed a maf sensor housing instead of the metal one. The new housing doesn't have that centerline airfoil. Total cost $30. No new wiring needed.
