I had an accident in my 99 and the muffler was knocked off. The adjuster with Progressive tells me the body shop can't find a replacement since it is an aftermarket item with no way to be positive of the brand. He says they will pay $700.00 for a replacement and try to match it or I can pay the diffence a replace with whatever I want. What would you guys recommend? I have stainless steel quad tips and don't really want to spend a fortune on a complete exhaust system. Also, I damaged a tire and needed to go ahead a replace the set. Thought from what I've read here that Michelin Pilot Sports are they way to go. Am I right on this? Thanks for any help. I've been a lurker for about five years and have really learned a lot from the forum thanks to you all.
It really all depends on how loud you want it. Borla Stingers and Bullets are some loud ones and Corsa makes some awesome exhuast systems. You can find someone selling their used exhaust in parts for sale section. Sorry about your accident Ihope you get it back together soon

I have the Pilots on my Z, and I cant complain, they are great tires and havent let me down.
Could you post a pic of the muffler, Im sure soemone wpuld be able tot tell you the maker. There are alot of Nice Catback systems available within your price range. The worst case mightbe spending out of pocket $100 or $200. I myself would buy new, since they dont want to really replace what the car had before.

You can get a cat back system for $900.00 + depending on what you go with. Most exhaust manufacture websites have video/sound clips that will give you an idea of how their different styles of exhausts sound. As far as tires, go with what you like. Read Vette mag's tests on different brands and talk with other Vette owners in your area to see what they are running. Good luck
I ordered the michelins from the Tire Rack today. I'm going to go with a new catback system, just got to decide what I want. I think I like the sound of the Corsa pace car. Just not sure if it's louder than I want.
