I'm looking for a torque spec! Not sure what the piece is called but...
It has 6 nuts that secure it to the flexplate/flywheel assembly. This is the piece that the propeller shaft slides into, and is then locked into place with a collar that has a single allen head bolt.
Not sure what this is called, so I can't be 100% sure of the spec.
Any help out there tonight? I'd like to get this motor back into the wife's car and running before the end of the weekend!!!
Do you mean the flex plate? If so there is a torque, loctite and tightening pattern requirement.
Tighten in three passes using GM 12345382 to the threads (I believe the equivalent in Loctite 242 (blue)) and tightening up snug. Use the star pattern to tighten (can't draw it here).
Nope. The flexplate is already torqued per the manuals, in three steps. This piece actually bolts to the flexplate, six nuts on it, and it rides on the splined shaft that comes out of the torque tube.
