Default brake light problem

I just joined the forum recently. I have a magnetic red 2002 convertible. My problem is that I have no brake lights on the right side. The taillights and signals work but no brake lights or four-way flashers on the right side. Any help would be appreciated.

If it was dead bulbs you'd have rapid flashing.

Looking at the wiring diagram, the turn signals, the license lamp and the side marker lamps are all on the same circuit. The wires route through a connector in the rear passenger side wheel well. You can get to it from under the car. Check that's connected properly and maybe clean it up and reseat it. If only the turn signals on one side have stopped I'd look at the lamp units themselves and the grounds for those lamps. Maybe loose or needing cleaning? Its a brown hot wire and black to ground.

A common cause for these symptoms is either the hazard switch (known issue on C5s) or the turn signal stalk (also a known issue). I had to replace the turn signal stalk on the columnm due to corrosion inside. I'd bet on one of those two as the root cause of your problems....

Those are the lights that DO work. The brake lights are what are out. Check with a voltmeter, I'm betting your not getting voltage to the right side brake lamps. You'll have to follow back from there. You may have a broken wire or bad connection. Measure the good side for reference.
