Default Skid plate stiffeners

I bought a set of these, and if I install them so that the "bends" in the stiffeners match up with the bar under the nose, the ears (with the holes through them for the bolt) have to be pushed up in order for the holes to clear the bar so I can get the bolt through. End result is that the ears are pushing very hard on my urethane nose. I'm not too fond of this. Is this normal??

Default skid plate stiffners

I used a large hammer (sledge) to BEND them around the skid plate. Got tired of scraping away the skid plate. They have been on now for about 4 years and once in a while while im under the nose changing the oil etc. take a look at them and adjust or paint them as necessary. Still hit curbs or the concrete parking stops sometimes even though I am a daily driver. Adjust yours and you will be fine. BIGHANK

A vise and big hammer will fix it. I've had a couple of sets and neither fit correctly out of the box.

As soon as you get the skid plates as you like them, forget the skid plate covers and get this:

It really does the job.

Don't like DRILLING thru the frame rail. Have also seen items you WELD in place. Wish there was a better way to do this WITHOUT DRILLING. BIGHANK
