Default Help W/ Header Install!!!!

I did headers on my car this past weekend. The headers were race only, so they came with no emission connections. I installed them, and the car ran fine but it would jerk once in a while. The jerk started getting worst and worst till finally my car died out. I will try and start it and it will only stay on for about 2 secs. Oh and I am running straight pipes so no o2 sensors in the rear.

I suspect that the airpump may be the cause of my problem. I know the rear o2 sensors would just make the car run rich. I also know I got to get it tuned. Has anyone had this problem? Is there anyway around this that might work for a while till I get it tuned?

Ive tried clearing out my codes, taking the relay and fuse out of the air pump, any other ideas?

Thanks for the time guys!

Pull the codes and report them here, this is always a good starting point.
How did you connect your front O2 s ? Straight or crossed ?
Maybe a bad connexion on a plug wire ? Are all cylinder running ?
Basic questions. AIR system I don't believe is the culprit here. It is used only at startup.

I have no o2 sensors in the rear. I disconnected them. The front ones are connected though.

As for the air pump, My headers have no connections for the check-valve, so my valves are just dangalling around my engine bay. Ill see if I can pull the codes and post them up. Thanks for the imput guys

Ahh, so you do have front ones. A big mistake people make is cross connecting the front sensors, try that. When people do that, your symptoms are exactly what happens, but you will throw codes until you are tuned

AH when you say my oxygen sensor connections may be cross connected, are you talking about the right front sensor being in the left plug in etc? If so Im going to go try that.

the Header dosent have the fittings. They are race only. Would I have to plug up the ones on the check valve? Ive tried pulling the fuses to the air pump so it wouldnt turn on, that would be the same as plugging them up wouldnt it?
