well this is my first post i just wanted to say hello to all.i am a proud owner of a triple black 2002 c5 m6.i have been wanting a vette for as long as i can rember and NOW I HAVE ONE
but i am have a small problem form time to time the car will not start.it just clicks like the battery is dead.i changed the battery and that was not the problem.but i did find out that when it does this i can keep moving the shifter around from gear to gear and then it will crank.
and i have the clutch all the way in.it only does this every once in a while. has any one else had this problem?
i did send it to the dealer and they said they could not get it to do it.and could not find the problem.
let me say thanks now for all the help
Concerning the starting it sounds as if the starter might be going out, moving the shifter should have no affect on starting as long as the clutch is depressed. My 02 had the starter replaced under warranty for the same reason.
I have the same problem, it seems so far to come from the positive battery cable, but i haven't had time to check it out and when I have the time, it usually doesn't do it. nonetheless when it happens i usually jiggle the positive cable until I hear a little click from the alternator and then it goes on. If you have any feed back on that let me know.
possibly the switch on the clutch that wont let the car start without the switch being "activated", it can go bad. a few people have had problems with it.
have you tried to let the clutch out and push it back in then try to start it again?
