98 Coupe, 6 SP displays a P0102 and a P0103 code after I nail it. The engine runs fine but I can't stand that little yellow engine that is now light up on my dash!! I know it's a MASS Air Flow code and it is leading me to believe that the stock unit is about ready to die. My question is; Is that really the case?? Is the MASS at fault or is this only part of the problem? I removed the screen about a year ago and had no codes set. How can it read low and high frequency at the same time?
So, do I order a new high flow unit or do any of you out there know something that I need to know that can help me resolve this problem?
Is there a good place to get one at a reasonable price? Who makes the best replacement MASS ,GMP???
STEVE
You were right on the money!!!! It had two clicks to go! The wife is taking it to work and I will ask her to nail it once or twice to check it out "like I will have to twist her arm!!"
Now for the nittey grittey facts! How does a loose gas cap cause the MASS Air Flow code to be set?
My guess would be that the fuel flow is affected by a lack of positive pressure.
Close!?!? :D
