What exactly does a cat sim do?
I know with the O2 sensor, it constantly reads exhaust gasses and sends info to the computer. It constantly changes. With the simulator, what information is it sending? Is it sending the correct info? Will it affect performance? I know a lot of you guys don't agree with removing the cats, but by doing so, you do gain some HP. Is it now a trade off because the cat sim may not be sending the correct info all the time? If someone could explain, it would be very helpful. Thanks, Eric

Your car has 2 sets of 02 sensors, one set before the cats and one set after the cats. The sole function of the ones after the cats are to give a reading back to your PCM saying that the cats are doing their job. If you just remove the 02 sensors after the cats, your car will assume the cats are not functioning properly and start making adjustments accordingly. If you put "02 Simulators" in place of the 02 sensors after your cats, they will transmit the proper signal back to the PCM saying the cats are functioning properly. This allows you to remove the cats on your car without your PCM knowing.
