Battery in key FOB
I have to get real close to my car before it starts working. I'm interested in replacing the battery to see if the range increases.
Has anyone replaced the battery in the key fob?

I replaced the batteries in both of my key fobs. The cheapest place I found for batteries, was Wal-Mart. You will have to reprogram them after the new batteries are installed. :chevy

I guess this falls under the "good GM service" title so rare nowadays ?

Funny how these queries increase every year when the cold weather hits. Yes you can change the battery and it will help, but they may still be sluggish in the cold -- it's just life.

I replaced mine after 2 years of operation.
The battery costs about $5. Just get on one of the web search engines and input the battery number. You'll find a lot of companies that have the battery and will mail it to you. Saves a trip to the mall.
