Manual tranny issues

Anyone having any problems with the 6 speed trannies? Mine grinds going into second when I drive aggressively. It usually occurs above 3500 rpm.

Mine ground going into 6th. I changed my transmission fluid to Amsoil ATD and it fixed it. Not saying this will work for you, your synchromiser (sp?) may be going. These transmissions are sensitive to dirty fluid, I find I must change at about 50,000 mile intervals (even when using synthetic fluid).

I changed my fluid at 32,000 and used Royal Purple hoping that it would fix the problem. After the fluid change I still have the same problem.

You might try the shifter alignment procedure. There are many posts in here on how to do it properly.

Some folks get lucky and it';s just the Trans fluid..but most of the time it is the synchros and time for a new Tranny.

Been there done that exactly 2 weeks ago. Got a new Level IV from RPM Trans.
