Can someone in the know please tell me whether it is acceptable to use the lug nuts for a 2001 OEM Alcoa Z06 rim on a 2004 Z06? If so, what is the proper torque?
That video of the RX-8 with all four wheels flying off at the same time has me paranoid.

Thanks. Jason
I would say the lug nuts are the same size and seat angle. I believe the torque is 100 ft-lbs. Check you Owner's Manual ...
The lug nuts are the same. To ease your mind take one of the lugs and place it in the wheel stud opening. Check seating of the lug. It should have the same seat angle and make contact over the entire surface. Torque settings are 100FT Lbs.
Rx 7 wheels fall off, such a shame that is a cool car
That Video is a quick reminder too all of us as to not be disturbed or keep to our pre-event check list before each run. Spend too much time talking to buddies and you forget something.
stick with a 100 ft lbs, I have seen lugs come loose at less then that.

I agree. I don't visit while installing wheels or doing my pre-race routine. Distraction yields errors.
The stock C5 Z06 lugnuts are interchangeable year to year.
100. put on as 40, 70, then 100 in a three step process, tightening in a star pattern.
