Weird CLB problem; PLEASE HELP

Default Weird CLB problem; PLEASE HELP

OK I was taking my interior apart to send to C5KIDD and noticed that it looked like my CLB was unhooked and the factory wires were plugged back in so I unplugged the factory wires and plugged my CLB in. Started the car and my steering wheel was locked So I plugged the factory wires back in and the wheel was unlocked but everytime I start the car it says "Service Column Lock". I can just hit reset and everything is fine but how can I get it where it wont come on at all ? Thanks

did you use the adaptor to unlock the mechanism first??

If not...re-connect the stock harness lock the wheel..use the adaptor to unlock it and install the CLB....then it should be fine..

I have the stock harness connected now and it doesnt lock but maybe once every few months and I know how to get it unlocked.


When I installed the CLB a few minutes ago it locked.

well damn....I know there was something about pulling fuse 25 in the passenger floorboard to clear the codes after install but....the last one I did I had a similar problem and fixed it by doing what I told you. I wonder if that CLB is bad.

Im not sure buts its sure strange. I guess I should have just left it alone since it didnt lock up very often at all. I may try to pull #25 in the morning and see if it will reset

well if the CLB doesnt work you really didnt accomplish anything....

I guess you can call whoever you got it from and ask for help / suggestions
