New type PVC w/o plunger..

I had a BIG surprise when I checked the catch can. It was full to the top with oil
. Now I'm concerned if the new installed Patriot heads that are milled to 62cc is causing more blow by
I re-installed the old type PCV to see if this will help slow down the blow by like it did before.
Has anyone else have this problem with the new type PCV?
Thanks,

If you have an excess in crankcase pressure, you can install breathers on the valve covers to help with this. I personally have a breather on each valve cover, and I still have my LS6 style PCV hooked up. The plunger acts as a 1 way check valve, so I'm not worried about drawing air through there, but it seems to have helped my oil consumption. Post your EXACT setup and I'll put some more thought into it for ya!

Do you have any pictures of your air breathers and PCV setup? If so, can you email them to me or post them? I just had a LS2 402 installed in my car. My mechanic modified my stock setup slightly, but the guys at TSP (who built the engine and tuned the car) recommended a setup like yours. My mechanic was hoping I could get some pictures to show what the LS6 PCV u-shaped hose setup looked like. Also, can you tell me where you bought your air breathers for your valve covers?

It has LS6 valve covers so I guess it has a LS6 PCV.
It's a '97 A4 with 67K miles on the clock.
It had no oil usage or blow by issues when stock. I took a 6K mile trip and used 1/2 qt of oil. After installing a 2002 ZO6 LS6 heads and cam it started to have blow by. I installed a catch can and between oil changes (3to5K miles) the catch can would have about 3 oz. of oil in it.
Last month I had new Patriot 243 heads with 62cc chambers installed.
After reading about the new GM PCV that is suppose to cut way down on blow-by, I installed one and after a couple of weeks of not too spiritive driving I decided to check the catch can and to my surprise it was FULL to the top of the can.
So at present I went back to the old style PCV and put a breather on the oil filler cap. (There is no place to install a second breather on the driver side valve cover.)
I plan to run it this way for awhile to see if it slows down the blow-by
I'm also thinking of placing a second PCV in the line going to the catch can, or placing a PCV upstream of the original PCV. This way the the engine will have two PCVs in the system. Any thoughts on that setup?
Thanks for the replies...

The FAST intake has been replaced by the LS6 intake also.

Thx,

So now to put it to the test of slowing down the blow by.
