Default Clb Question

Okay before I get flamed on for this topic I want to explain. I know there are a Gazillion Posts concerning the CLB. I have read many and then I read many more. I know that sometime after 2001 most of the problems started going away because GM removed the locking pin and I think they changed the programing.

This is the part where I am unclear as to the necessity of the CLB. I have an 01 vert, it has no locking pin. I bought the CLB because I had not read differently about the programing changes and I was uneasy with the thought that I might get out and the system shuts down the fuel. My thought was that if I didn't use it I could always sell it on the forum or Pay it Forward.

Heres the deal.... I pulled out all of the stuff necessary to get at the wiring today and I find that the wiring stops at the connector. Nothing connected to the black, purple, orange, and green wires as they are supposed to be. So this is telling me that on my 01 that not only is there no locking pin the system wiring which I assume is generic for C5's stops at the connector so there should be no issuses with fuel shutoff.

Does this make sense? Is this correct? I can hook up the CLB bypass if I want but don't think now after seeing this it would add any value or be necessary.

Hopefully someone will be able to steer me in the right direction. If it is what I think the answer will be then if you know of someone looking for a good CLB I have one. I'll also throw in some installation advice for free .....

Thnxz guys.....

Is your car an A-4 or an MN-6?

If it is the MN-6, it should have had the locking pin.

Has it had the recalls done on it for the CL? You can post your VIN on here and ask someone to pull your car's service history from the GM computer. That is where I would start! Start a new thread with your request.
For the later model C-5 A-4's, there were no reflashings done to the computer during the recalls (if I remember correctly).

Thanks, it is an A4. To the best of my knowledge it has not had any recalls done to it. I am the 2nd ownerand the previous owner made no mention of having anything done except routine maintenance.

I will start another thread as indicateded and refeerence this one as well.
