I believe the book sez that if you have the driver side control at 60, it overrides the passenger control and I don't think the a/c compressor cycles, it just stays on. Try setting your dial to 63 0r 64 and see if that puts the passenger side control back in action.

This is a C5 forum, not the correct place to get instructions on how to warm up your "old lady".
Couldn't you sacrifice a little and turn the temp up a little for her? The passenger side control turned all the way up will help a little, and she could shut off the vents on her side.

It works just like the thermostat in your home. Do you set it to 60 at home and then when it gets cool enough, shut it off? Only to turn it back on max again 10 minutes later? Set it for a comfortable temperature and forget it. You're using it like the old lever adjusted units we had in the old days. You no longer need to do that. It will automatically heat/cool the interior as fast as possible and then automatically level off at your desired temp. That's why they call it Climate Control or various other names by various other manufacturers.

Make sure to put the AC system on auto...on manual only one side will cool. On auto you can set both sides. There will be a temp difference, but only one fan speed...
