Default Caliper Bracket - HELP

I need some help getting the caliper bracket bolts off - I've tried an impact wrench, and a breaker bar, and couldnt get them to budge.

I didnt have any WD-40, but I'm gonna get some tomorrow and soak the crap out of it.

Is there anything special that anyone else has found that works really well?

Thanks!

Your bolts probably have a ton of lock-tite on them. I don't envy your frustration.

You've may have tried this already. But, despite the low-tech nature, I just make sure I have enough under-car clearance (i.e., car's up high on jack stands or a lift) and use a stout breaker bar for lots of leverage. (Sometimes, leg-power is required vice my arms to get the bolts loose.) Seems to work better than most impact wrenches for some reason.

Good luck with things!

p.s.--Go Air Force! Semper Fi too!

I use a wrench and a hammer.. I normally don't have to whack it more than 2 or 3 times, nor do I have to hit it very hard.. kinda fun too

Thanks kedvesh.......I actually have it about 2 feet in the air on jackstands right now (doing a clutch swap) I'm just a little nervous about jerking the car around too much with it on the stands (and me under it)

Thanks for the advice!

Anyone else have any magic that I can try?

I tried an electric impact wrench.. no go..

Ended up using an 18" Swivel headed breaker bar..Home Depot..

You need to break the locktite on those bolts.. once you do that they come out easy..

I had the same problem on my Mustang two weeks ago. Some one recommended some penetrator spray and let it soak for a few hours. Then apply some heat.

I bet you can get it with a longer breaker bar and some penetrator.

Good luck

Those bolts are torqued to 125 ft. lbs. so it takes quite a bit of force to get them loose but they will come out.
