Default HUD Windshield - Not again!

I had my HUD windshield replaced a couple years ago after a flying rock incident. It took (3) windshields before I got one that would work properly due to optic problems with the non-OEM Glass replacements (even though supposedly HUD versions) finally had to order one from the Chevy Dealer.

Well, had windshield replaced again this week (more rocks from pickup trucks). Experiencing the same HUD problems as last time - display is about 80% of original height with a slight amount of double vision. This looks exactly the same as the first one I had replaced for that same reason last time.

Is this normal for replacement HUD glass? Do they normally "shorten" the readout vertically and that is considered acceptable? In any case, I am not going through changing it out again - hope the insurance company saved a few hundred - this is getting real old.

I don't guess anybody has a photo of what the HUD looks like with a non-HUD glass installed? Just wonder if I am being too picky?

We used to have this problem, but then the insurance companies
realized that crappy aftermarket glass cost them more in the long
run than OEM glass. Don't you get to pick your installer? We now
have several installers up here that only use OEM glass.

Anyway, Josh has pictures of non-HUD glass:

When my non-HUD windshield was replaced in January, it had scratches on all 3 in the same exact place Apparently, the way they store or ship them is not exactly good Also, one of them had a blurry imperfection area. The quality is definately going south

Thanks for responses. I looked at the new windshield last night and it is marked AP-Tech Shaded HUD Solar Ray - is that an OEM Replacement?
