Default ARH Header honest install time

Hey boys

Just trying to budget my time needed to do this and was wondering what a realistic timeline for installing these headers is. I have 1 7/8ths headers. Is there more to the install than what the directions say? Is this doable with jackstands or is this a hoist job.

let me know

I don't believe you I have watch the old Vette Doctors video a bunch of times and it takes them seconds to get them in but with my luck and knowing how you pros make everything else look easy I am worried this could take the better part of a day.

I did them on jackstands, I did not get the Bam they're in, but it was not that bad. I did remove the starter as well. Both sides from the bottom.

Chris just told me the following would help:

watch for battery cable as not to slice it on passenger side
Unbolt steering arm
Loosen motor mounts
take starter off
and remove coolant temp sensor

he said that it is even more of a bear as I have a LS2 403 and that they will go but everything is a tight fit

Chris forgot to mention using the Vaseline. j/k

They probably have more experience with installing the ARH system than any shop in the country...they did mine.

I did mine in about 6 hours the hardest part was 1) getting in/out the drivers side plug near fire wall 2)getting the passenger side header in I tried from above and below removed the starter and the valve covers it eventually went in from underneath but took a good hour. I am not mechanically inclined I took my time fired up and no codes!!

I am installing mine as i post....driver side went in no problem. I actually placed the header up from underneath and then pulled it up and placed it in position from the top. Passenger side is a bit!@%*. Still working on it. Tried to position it as i did on the driver side...no luck. Loosened the motor mount on the p-side...with the starter out and ground cable disc. and motor jacked up on p-side still no luck. Will try again t-morrow with both mounts loose and jack up motor again...hope this will be the ticket. About 3 hrs. so far with removal of the old system.

I put the ARH 1 7/8th in and they aren't any fun. I previously installed LG pros and those were a breese. The 1 7/8ths ARH need a lot of patience and your car pretty high off the ground if you don't have a lift. The motor mounts have to be loosened (nuts off) and the motor jacked up. They go in from the bottom, once they are close, give them a gentle bang with something soft. Don't set a time or you will only dissapoint yourself.

the AR's are by far the best system to install, We've done a bunch in the past 2 months at the new shop in FL

the driver's side does install in about 10 seconds, the passenger side takes about 3 minutes

I recently put a set or 1-3/4" AR headers in from the bottom and both sides went in in just a minute or two each. I removed the alternator and the starter and left the steering shaft and everything else alone. Didn't have to mess with the motor mounts and jack the motor like I did with a set of Kooks. Fit was great.
