Finally i did it, the torque converter was changed, now i can feel the difference. man and is it big
i got my TCI super street fighter torque converter two days ago and i was waiting for it so that i can fix the rear axle sleeves. it was a good investment ... but I'm still waiting for my gears to come
I dont know about any vibrations but after installing a 3.42 and a yank 3200 and a custom tune from Diablo now the car goss like hell. But make sure you get a tune , as you must eliminate the TC look up in 3 rd gear as it will be very annouying " this is recomemdation from other TUNERS ". Mine is being looked into in order to eliminate this issue . GOOD LUCK>
i put in a tci 3500 ssf last year and now after my h/c instal i get a 10% slip factor on the dyno.......it eats up a lot of power.....if u plan to stay near stock hp levels its fine other wise spend the money on something better
I've seen posts from other members about this issue w/ TCI convertors. I know Andy w/ A&A had told me he tried several TCI convertors for a period of time and all of them had issues like this unfortunately. Not sure if this can be fixed w/o buying a new unit from another company like Precision Industries which is what I have.
I'm still a newbie, but I think I recall from an earlier thread that the vibration could be caused by (sorry, i don't remember the exact names)the connection between the torque tube and the engine. I think there is a clamp/bearing (with an allen bolt) that need to be loosened. then the drive train needed to be rotated a few times and then re-tighten the clamp. I beleive it lets the torque tube re-center. HTH
