Check Engine Light Power Loss
stopped at a light everything ok. light turns gree the check engine light comes on and the car has no power limp at 1 mph. dash is flashing reduce engine power. the alternator was in the 12.8 range had the lights on the rear defr,front defr on at the time. waited with the car off for 3 min and restarted. the car has power again but the check engine light is still on any ideas? its a 1997 coupe thanks

Check for trouble codes ... write them down and post them up. This will give you info to pin-point area cause.

Sounds to me like you have a ground or battery issue or both. Get a flash light and check around your battery area, and look for ANY signs of a leaking battery and possible PCM corossion issues. If that is ok, check the battery cable connections to the battery (GM has had many issues with the side mount cable connections being poor), if those are ok, it's more then likely the infamous corvette ground gremlin.
