Yesterday, before going out for a cruise, I popped the hood to check the oil. While under there, I put the 5/16 wrench to the battery terminals, just to make sure they were tight.
About 10 minutes later, I hop in and turn the key. The car starts right up, however the DIC briefly reads "Charge system fault" then goes away. I drove the car, it ran well, no problems. Got back home and looked in the owners manual for this DIC message, but it talked about serious failures like dead alternators, and/or broken belts. I had nothing like this.
its a fairly common problem. Can be several things. ranging from a dead/dying battery, bad alternator, loose ground, etc. mine used to do it everyday, and now it hasnt done it in almost a month.
Was having the same problemm. battery voltage was always good but decided to change out battery went with excide orbital, problem went away been about 9 months.
