First of all thank you all for the encouraging comments while I was in my depressive period. The separation anxiety was really starting to get to me.But all is well...for now anway.:yesnod:
I picked up my car this morning after the dealer flashed my computer to life. No need for a new PCM like we thought...just a reflash back to good 'ol GM specs.I was relieved to know I didn't do any real damage to the PCM after interupting the down load of the PL II.As it turns out I drove the car home with the stock program. It was very sluggish and shifts were sloppy, speedo wasn't calibrated and the fans wouldn't come on until 220 degrees. I drove home with a constant 210 degrees ..and it was only 77 degrees outside, and a little overcast. But it WAS alive so I was happy in that regard. All under warranty (thank You Angel Diaz/ Master Tech/Corvettes only 18 years- Maroone Chevrolet)
After driving home I immediately get the PL II out of the box and READ THE DIRECTIONSseveral times. I now load the Powerloader with NO problems at all. No codes ,No red lights and just by the book.
Let me tell all of you with a C5 /A4 who haven't installed the PL II yet. You really don't know what your missing with this program. After the install I let it idle for about 5 minutes and off I was for a nice drive. What a difference...I mean what a difference! The car runs like a beast...!Again, but better than before. Perhaps the dealer cleaned all the Superchips crap out too.
I still have some programming issues with Steve Cole on the 2-3 shift ,but I've already sent the PL II back for a reprogram.I'm sure once I get the data off the tech II all will be great. The Tech II is GM's analyzer. It will take a snapshot of the shift as it is happening so that we can program the PL II accurately.Otherwise I'm much relieved and again thanks for all of you who let me vent in my frustration. :yesnod:
Vince, next time do what I did....
I drove to the dealer (10 miles from my house) and Powerloaded in the parking lot. If it croaks you just tell the dealer you were on the way there cause the DIC was going nuts and codes were flashing like a fire truck and it died right in the parking lot damn how convenient
If it works then drive away with a smile :D
