Tried to start the car after three days, all I got was click,click etc...Popped started it, drove it around for about an hour, shut if off, then started it, started no problem.
Fast foward to this morning, tried to start the car...click, click, click...
I think it might be my alternator, but not 100% sure???
I recently had the same problem, and it ended up being the alternator. Take your car to a parts store like Advanced or Pep Boys and have them run a test to see if it is the battery or alternator.
That would be a given with click, click, click. Do the easy DIY things first. Make sure your battery connections and cables are tight, clean and not corroded. Check the battery by load test. Is it the original oem battery? It could be you have a drain somewhere in the electrical system that's depleting the battery power for starting. The C5/Z06 battery is required to maintain a lot of electrical components.
Here's another member with a battery problem. There might be some useful information there... http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1760237
Before you get toooo deep into replacing stuff and spending money that you dont need to spend, Find a volt meter and see if the alternator is out puting the correct voltage.
You could have something that is not shutting down and drawing excessive current when the car is OFF! To check that you will need to do a battery current draw check. Here is post for you that explains the procedure.
If you drawing excessive current and dont fix the source of the problem, you will be replacing batteries once or twice a month!
Your BCM sleep current draw should be very close to 0.020 MA. NOT 0.200 It will take about 3-5 mins for the BCM to go into sleep mode once you connect the amp meter to the circuit. Make sure everything is off, shut or disconnected. I.E. doors, trunk, hood light off, radar detector unplugged ect....
There are quite a few battey current drain post in the C5 Tech section "archive" section. Search under these definitions;
