What is the average safe temp range for trans fluid? I've noticed mine has been hovreing around 220.

I have a B&M tranny cooler - and mine stays about 4 degrees above my coolant temp.. which is between 178-205

My transmission temp is about 178 degrees with a Yank 3000 Torque converter and a Hayden transmission oil cooler.

With a tranny cooler, it may drop it down by 20 - 25*.

Heat is the #1 enemy of an automatic tranny. Mine is rarely over 198 with no cooler, I do have the 172-178 TS & PLII which helps.
