Default Help I found a leak!

I just got back from vaca and went to take out the Vette and behind my rear passenger tire there was a huge puddle of oil like fluid. I looked underneath and by the heat shield above the muffler was a little wet. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Seal in the rear diff, pretty common problem & not to expensive to fix.

I looked again and it actually looks like brake fluid but the leak is not comiung from directly under the brakes. More towards the back of the rear wheel...

It is not common for right side of transaxle to leak.

That oil is real thick, what you find is it also thick ?
If thin then brakes or MN6 fluid, smell what is on ground and from that you can match to fluids to pin it down.
Check master to see if brake fluid is getting lower

You got anything in the trunk/storage area leaking? When you left for vac was it raining heavily when you parked the car? You have any critters w/access to the garage while you were gone?

AHH! Maybe in 1 of the compartmants there is a quart of oil. I'll have to check that! Critters... other than the usual spiders and an occasional fly. I'm gonna check it out . Thanks.

I'd hate to think of something crawling up under the car, making a home and taking a whiz whether it be Miss Kitty cat or a rodent It's the exact location you described that had me puzzled.
