I removed my blower motor & inspected it. Looking inside the hole on the side I can see rust all over the insides & in the bottom of outside of motor. Two questions, New blower on order. How do you remove old squirrel cage or should I have replaced that as well? Also, How does water get inside blower motor? Whats going on with water infiltration that obviously ends up resting in the motor. 2000 hardtop Thanks Rich

While replacing blower motor, how do you remove & install used squirrel cage from bad motor to new?
I do not know what part was purchased but if its the gm replacement for the blower motor is one piece not two. This is a simple job to complete just getting positioned on the passenger side is the key. Best source for the purchase of the part is GMPartsHouse.com and ask for Gene
