OK, I read Jr-vette's post on re-indexing the actuator, since I was getting the codes he mentioned,B 361, and B441.I had already taken the car to a mechanic who added some freon. When he first hooked up the lines, the compressor kicked in, and he said the small amount of freon in the lines was enough to get it going. He kept the car hooked up to make sure everything was OK, and added a small amout( 1/2 lb.) of freon. All the guages were OK, but the passenger side reading was 10 degrees cooler than the left side( driver's side) with the temp sensor he had, and the 361, and 441 codes were on the computer.
I did everything in the post to re-index the actuator, but the AC light does not stay on for more than a few seconds, and the compressor doesn't seem to kick in.Needless to say, the AC is not blowing cold air. Any ideas as to what the heck is wrong, or is it time for the dealer tax to kick in?

Reason: additional info
Dont think it is the actuators. Had/have the problem with the actuators, and the AC would always come on. If the AC goes off, could be pressure loss. Below a certain pressure the AC switches off. 02'-04' only takes 1.75 lbs R134a, so 1/2 lbs is a lot, almost 30%. Check the pressure again, if it is low again, you have a leak. Then have someone put in some UV dye. Could also be the control module, though I dont have any experience with that.
Also read about an AC problem on a Caddy....dont know if the Corvette system works the same.

Turns out there was not enough freon in the system. It's puzzling to me, because I took the car to a regular service center and they already fixed my DD which is a Ford Explorer. It had the same issue, and they added freon, and the truck was fine. Go figure.
