Picked the car up from Tom Oates today all I can say wooohaaa. I did trow a code on the way home which I'm sure them or LPE will fix up but want to make sure what it means.
I have p0420 hc and p0430 hc witch says catalyst system low efficiency?? Can you guys explain this in English - is it ok to drive with this condition?
I was throwing this code in my Dodge Hemi Pickup after installing duals with flowmaster series 50's.. Cause was the rear O2 sensor placed too close to catalytic converter. Dodge assured me it was safe to drive with the code but computer was in safe mode so economy etc. suffered. Reason it takes a while to throw the code is the engine must go through a series of run cycles before the sensor is checked. Sure the corvette is similiar but haven't had any problems with mine to find out. What were they doing to the car before you picked it up?

I was having a Magnuson supercharger installed.........I did some research and it appears this is common with headers but I've had them for a year and never got this code?
It's normal w/ headers as you said... your tuner should turn of your rear O2 sensors and they'll never come back.
The higher efficiency cats trick the car into thinkin they're not working correctly.
I had headers for almost a year before I started getting the codes ( I was untuned) and then they started comming on every few weeks which screwed up the ready status of my OBD-II emisisons and I couldn't pass state inspection.
Thus, I got her dynotuned, did the drive cycles, and got it inspected. This was all before the cam.

same thing happened in me 2001 Tahoe and i just tuned, when i installed the headers and exhaust system i just deleted the sensors and gave them a static reading so now it works perfectly
