Default Lets Lubricate:::=]

The fiber glass leaf-spring on the vette seems to be making a Squeaking sound whenever the suspension travels up and down. Has anyone in the forum lubricated the bushings that go arround the support on the leaf-spring. I'm thinking about doing it, but I would like to know what not to mess up in the process, or what to be cautious of .

Nope never have. Are you positive that's the source? Closely check the end links on the anti-roll bar. That has been a far more common source of noise. Also, don't rule out a shock.

I haven't checked the whole thing yet, I'm still gathering data as to what to do and what not to do, but I'll do it once I get home. Tnxs!

Default Front sway bar noise

Try dropping the front sway bar from its mounts and lubricating the insides of the rubber bushings with a good anti-seize grease. I replaced the Z-51 bar on my 2001 Vert with a 2004 Z-06 bar and bushings. I originally did not lubricate the bushings upon installation and had the same symptoms that you describe. Lubing the bushings resolved the problem.

The car is a 1999 coupe with an automatic transmission. As for the lubing on the bushings I'll try. I do need to update my profile 2, so I'll do once I get home. Uhu work time!!!

Good tip. I forgot to mention bar bushings. I used synthetic caliper grease on mine. It doesn't attack rubber and is very water/wash out resistant. Cheap too.

put some shallow slits in the bushing to create small grease pockets, at least thats what I did with a dremel..............
