Many municipalites have recycle centers which accept these fluids, as long as you don't mix the wastes, ex. motoor oil and antifreeze.

I have a used oil and antifreeze recycle center in my neighborhood. Check your County's Web Page for recycle centers.

I'm able to get a few of the "spouted" 5 gal pails at work once in a while. I usually change the coolant in the entire "family fleet" around the same time, and then make 1 trip to the recycle center with the used stuff.

The place that sells you oil/antifreeze has to be able to take the old stuff back. Its the law not a policy. Oil Change facilities will take it also.

I know many will think I am nuts and that it is not the "proper" thing to do, but if you are not in a shop, you can pour it into your toilet while the wife is not looking as long as you are in the city and don't have your own septic system. The filtration system the water goes through will take the harmful substances out of the water before it goes to the lake or what not.

This is ONLY for coolant. If you have even a drop of oil in it, take it to the place to be recycled. One drop of oil can contaminate nearly 1000 gallons of water if I remember correctly

Just leave it in a big water bowl on your driveway...It's is a great way to reduce the number of neighborhood dogs and cats crapping on your lawn...

If I ever considered flushing it I wouldn't post it here..

The State of Michigan has no law requiring vendors to accept return of waste oil or coolant...

That means it the municipal recycling depot or a DIY friendly auto-parts, quick-lube.

Please dont do that....even small quantities of chemicals can affect hormones. You might not die from it, but it can and will affect things like hormones in you, and more importantly in children.

If you are on a public sewer system calll and ask. I called our sewer department and they said it is ok to put pure antifreeze in our sewer system.
