Default Turn indicator problem

1999 C5 Roadster - My right rear turn indicators do not function. The left rear and both front turn indicators work fine. When I turn on the right turn signal it clicks very fast however only the front lamp functions. Both front and rear, left and right hazard indicators work. I have checked the lamps, fuses and they are fine. I have also tried the multi hazard switch operation (bang on the switch) repair technique an that did not work. Any suggestions before I turn to a professional?

Hi, I have had the exact same fault on my 2001. I would persist with operating the hazzard switch a number of times. Like you I tried this and had no joy, however, the following day I tried operating it again a few times in quick sucession- and my indicators have worked correctly ever since. Good luck.

When I bought my car it had this exact problem, right rear turn signal would not work but hazards worked fine. The previous owner said they had checked all the fuses, grounds, and replaced the bulbs multiple times but could never fix the problem. I looked up the wiring diagrams and the only part of the circuit that is different from the hazards is the turn signal switch itself, located on the steering column. I replaced it and have never had a problem with it, I think the contacts in the switch just get burnt out. I am a Jaguar technician and see contacts in relays get burnt out all the time from normal wear and tear. Good luck to you and I hope this helps.
