Default Sway bar question...

I am thinking about getting a set of hotchkis bars to get rid of a little bit of body roll and was wondering if they would be dangerous on the street, not letting the suspension work independently enough for rough back roads. Please if you know something about how this works post a response. thanks! (btw I am running Z wheels with PS2's and stock F45 suspension)

There are a number of people on here running the hotckis anti-roll bars or something similar (T-1 or pfadtty bars) and report improved handling. However, if you get get on a really bad piece of road my guess is you will get bounced around a lot. He!!, even in a stock vette you will get bounced around pretty good. Stiff suspensions and lousy roads to not mix well!!

Here is a link that might give you some more info.

Z06 bars are a much better value IMHO, and would have slightly less impact on ride.

Why not go with the Z06 front and rear sway bars and end links? That's what I did. Under $300, total, and she really corners well, with no noticeable decrease in ride comfort.

Here are sway bar dimensions.

23mm, front; 19.1mm, rear --- Base
Z51 (97-99): 25.4mm-front / 21.7mm-rear
Z51 (00-04): 28.6mm-front / 23.6mm-rear
Z06: 30.0mm-front / 23.6mm-rear
Hotchkis: 31.75mm-front / 25.4mm-rear
T1 (GM Racing): 38.4mm-front / 27.5mm-rear

I do not know what size sway bars come with the F45 suspension. Guess would be the base sway bar set. I also think the F45 suspension has the base spring rate too. Perhaps get answers to that question.

You may want to do a combination of sway bar and spring swap to get the ride you desire.

The F45 does have base springs and sway bars.

I have had the Hotchkis sway bars on my 99 for 90,000 miles with no handling problems. I did manage to break two of the Hotchkis end links.

Will this solve the end link popping sound that some folks hear when they turn sharply to the left? Reminds me of a bad ball joint from long ago.. .

I have the Hotchkis sway bar set up along with Bilstein Sports shocks. I had the base suspension before. The car now feels like it is glued to the road in turns and feels much more stable at higher speeds then before.

I have Hotchkis and drive a mile of dirt road a day, no issues. I like a stiff Vette though LOL... Anyway, I would definately look at Pfadtty as I think they may be better. The old adjustable end links from Hotchkis make a lot of noise, made me think I had broken something. I switch to the GM metal end links and all is good now. Not sure if the new adjustable end links solved the issue for good or not. Go take a look at Pfadtty's bars though, they look impressive
