Default A4 fluid level check

Hi guys,
what is the proper way to check the A4 fluid level? What temp does it need to reach, does it need to be checked on Drive?
Please let me know, thanks in advance!!!

With it up in the air, car level running in park, remove fill plug and just enough should spill out indicating full. If no fluid drips out add a small amount at a time (use a fluid pump from auto parts store) until it drips out. Then your full. Replace plug, shut off engine, lower car.

You have to have it warm, otherwise its not sending any fluid to the cooler. Can't say for sure what temp it opens, maybe 140?

I THINK the service manual says 187 degrees is the temp to check it at, but I don't remember for CERTIAN.

We were both wrong, my 2000 GM service manual says 86 to 122f.
