That's what I was thinking in post #10. I've seen a couple other posts from guys in the past that had that problem and it seems to be on the driver's side most commonly. Also any wiring going to the coil packs.
Ok... update. I looked at all wires I could..... coil, injectors, tail lights (not really). Talked to my local wrench today. He said he thinks its probably a vacuum leak. Most likey the intake.... he's seen it before. Anybody else had experience with that?
I too some pliers and pinched off the main vacuum line on the drivers side..... thinking it would tell me if it is in that line, including the map sensor. No change. I now think it probably is the seal around the intake. Any instructions to tearing this down? What to look for? Maybe its a vacuum leak somewhere else. How do you tell where a leak is anyway? ARRRGGG
Ok you wrenches.... you may be interested in what the problem was. After taking the car to my local wrench.... he could not decide what the problem was. Said I had to probably take it to the stealership and hook it up to the "mother ship" computer. He said this is the trend for the future..... dealer specific for the type of car you have. Hardware and software that only the dealer has to read certain things on your car. Cost is high and independant mechanics usually can't afford the equipment specific for chev or whatever. Also the anual upgrade for software.
Ok back to the problem. After much head scratching at the dealer he said they needed to take the valve cover off. No compression in #1 cylinder and the other cylinders were running bad. Gave the go ahead to do the small tear down. #1 valve spring was broken. No needle bearings broke on the rocker or anything else. Replaced the spring and all was ok.... runs good. Best bad news I have ever had. I am thinking that I may have over reved the engine by missing a gear and hitting a lower one. Don't remember but most likely. Watch your shifting!!!!

They cant be expected to work for free. I work on computers and charge by the hour; depending upon the customer I may or my not charge for not solving a problem but it is wrong to expect me to work for free. Glad thats all it was.
