I have a strange thing going on with my passenger door lock. My passenger door will not lock by using either the buttons on the doors or the key fob. Once the door is locked manually the buttons will unlock both doors and the key fob will unlock both doors but neither will lock the passenger door. What the hell? My first guess was a fuse but after a little more research that doesn't fit because the door will unlock, it just won't lock.
Any ideas or suggestions to try before a trip to the dealer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I can't get the link to work, but if you'll search "door lock relay" and scroll down to here's how to fix your door lock/window problems, you'll see an excellent thread with pictures and instructions on which relay you need to check. You might also wiggle the black accordion tube between your passenger door and the hinge area while pressing the button on your fob. If you have a loose connection in the connector in that area, it will sometimes work after you wiggle the plug. If not, then I'd go to the thread I described above. It was submitted by "bakersfield"
I am hoping my problem is in the wiring that goes between the body and the door as one forum vendor indicated. I am not sure I want to pull the door skins off and do the relay soldering ordeal, but if I have to I guess I will.
