I would start with the "known basic problems" that plague everyone:
1. Battery -- robust and healthy or marginal??? Replace if marginal.
2. Battery terminals all clean and tight??
3. Alternator OK?? Should be around 14.7 volts at alternator at idle
4. Grounds -- clean and tighten
It's either time or money --- there are a number of really simple problems that can set DIC codes. The simple ones you can tackle yourself if you have the time to invest. Rule out the simple before you assume it's complex and then spend a lot of $.
The battery is 3.5-4 years old, stock Delco. I wondered if this could be a battery issue. I'll check it out. Good idea! Tnx Bruce.
You're welcome. I would start there --- 4 years is about it for the stock Delco battery. Mine gave up at 4 years --- and it gave up over a period of about a week. Started getting funky DIC messages; otherwise OK and starting just fine --- had it on a trickle charger when it was parked at home. After about a week of strange DIC messages, drove it to work one morning and that was that -- went out a couple of hours later to go to the bank and everything was dead.

Well the new A/C Delco battery seems to be exorcising the demons. A brief test drive seems to confirm all is well again, no codes.
I guess I will lookup info about the grounds and clean them up/tighten.
Thanks again. Without the CF brothers I would have spent a LOT of money at the dealership!
Glad you made progress -- see the "sticky" at the top of this section written by Bill Curlee entitled "Important Electrical Information". Great help on where the grounds are located and how to clean them.
