Carlisle exit #?

Anyone know the exit number off Rte 81 that takes the "back way" into the Fairgrounds (through some very fun "twisties"!) and comes in at gate 4 -5? I took that route last year and it was a great way in. Thanks!

P.S. I'm hoping the current forecast doesn't hold up - t-storms most of the weekend. Will keep my fingers crossed!

I think the road you are thinking of is rt 944 (wertzville rd). It is exit 61. Take this road to rt 34 south and it will bring you into the north end of the fairgrounds. See you there.

Isn't there a back way into Gate 3 also????

Actually the route mentioned does go to gate 3. I believe gates 4&5 are pedestrian gates on the back side of the grounds.

You might be right on that one, but the route I'm thinking of does come in the back way so that you have to turn left into the fairgrounds - not sure what gate though! It's a nice way in with some nice twisties to drive through!

To Carlisle from NY:

I-81 south to Wertzville road exit,
RT onto Wetzville rd/rt944,
LT onto Rt 34/spring rd.
Main entrance on left.

If going to walk in entrance near auction, LT onto cavalry Rd.
